The WKN Windcurrent team in SA was one of the IPPs to have recently hit a milestone in signing land agreements with Sibayne-Stillwater for the development of the 800MW Merafong Solar PV facility cluster. A signing ceremony was now held by the project initiators, the Gauteng Provincial Government, marking a pivotal moment in the renewable energy sector. WKN Windcurrent SA, joined by our co-developers Merchant Energy attended the ceremony to commemorate the occasion. The agreement signifies a significant step forward in the region’s renewable energy landscape, marking a collaborative effort between industry leaders to harness sustainable energy sources and drive socio-economic development. This venture will bring about positive changes to the South African economy as we progress into a greener future.
