WKN Windpark Kropp in Schleswig-Holstein

Wind farm Kropp

German cooperation with community wind farm

  • MW realised: 18.45
  • Turbines erected: 6 WTG
  • Start of operation: August 2014

The wind farm built in Northern Germany with a total installed capacity of 18.45 megawatts consists of a total of six wind turbines. Three of the turbines were planned and erected for Bürgerwindpark Kropp-Tetenhusen GmbH & Co. KG. The remaining three Vestas V112 turbines with a hub height of 94 metres were sold to KGAL.

With a view to the connected community wind farm and close cooperation with the initiators involved, the approval and construction phases of the project went smoothly and in record time. These wind farms are linked to the grid via a seven-kilometre-long external cable route and now supply a total of around 15,000 households with environmentally friendly electricity, based on a combination of community wind farm and institutional investment.

The Kropp project led to the idea to establish today's subsidiary of WKN "WKN WERTEWIND", which is responsible, among other things, for the development, planning and construction of community wind farms and provides support in financing and operational management.
